Helmets one time use?

I'm trying to figure out if whitewater helmets are similar to skiing helmets. If you have a good impact once, then it will not be able to protect you from another hard impact.

I've got myself a Sweet Strutter. It's saved my dome from numerous little bangers. Last summer I had one hit that was really bad. Its put a good gash and what looks like a small crack in the forehead area. Since I made the move out west, I've been doing a lot more creeking. So I've been looking at the SR standard full face.

What I need to know is if I need get a new dome piece before I get on the water again.

Believe if you contacted Sweet they would tell you to buy a new one - and not just so they can sell it to you... a crack in any helmet means replacement time. Of course, depends what value you place on your 'noggin...

Small hits keep using big hits replace. Cracks or dents are definitely a replace.
