For clarification, manual pressures are MAXIMUMS, not necessarily recommended pressures. I agree that softer boats certainly have their place, but in the end it comes down to personal preference; I generally like a stiff boat. Also, keep in mind that boats of different material at the same PSI will likely feel different.
