FYI, if you have used any Aquaseal on pinholes in the drytop, the heat activated stuff doesn't work too well (although I didn't try the dryer).
I went and got some spray on Kiwi treatment from Wal-Mart that said it would refresh the DWR on specialty/synthetic fabrics including was airdry...and it worked extremely well for $6 a can.
If you don't have any Aquaseal on your top then check out this old thread...

All sounds like great advice. I have a question, though. I've had my palm drytop for at least seven years. I've never treated it with anything. I wash it about once a month in dreft detergent and cold water. It's pretty faded, but still dry and it breathes. I've had to replace gaskets, but never had it leak through the fabric. My question is: Is there different qualities of Gortex? Did I just luck out? Should I treat it if it still works?

I had a problem with my Kokotat drysuit which I bought used. Tried Nikwax. Got worse. Tried it again. Got "worser". Called Kokotat and Goretex. Both were adamant that "3rd party" products and coatings were bad and not advised. Their suggestions - wash with powdered detergent. If you've used something like Nikwax you may need to wash numerous times to remove the stuff. Then iron on low heat. Worked for me.
