Friend of mine tring to decide between Burn or Karnali.... advice for him?

I have found tons of info online about the Burn for him, but not too much on the Karnali. What little i did find on the Karnali it sounds to be an easier and more forgiving boat then the Burn. My question is what is it about the Karnali that people don't like? It seems like the Burn is a very hot seller and people love it, but very few people own a Karnali compared to Burn owners. Just curious as to why this is, and would like to hear opinions from people that have paddled both.

I liked the Shiva when I briefly got to paddle one. In fact I liked it a lot, but if your buddy is a beginner I would not recommend it. Very fast boat edge to edge which translates to feeling "tippy" at first.

The Karnali (from my experience) was a wider, more stable Burn. It was a very user friendly design, but with the waterline on it, you could go in one hell of a straight line, but weaving through boulder gardens or making quick directional changes required you to "drop into gear" and work that boat.

If I had the option, I would get the Everest (giant Burn) over the Karnali. I found that it was more responsive and slightly faster.

Its all hype! The Burn was just hyped out better durring marketing. both are great boats. Tell your "buddy" to get off his ass a paddle both. Let him make the call. If he is a begginer, no matter what boat he buys, he want something different with in a year or he will quit boating. Thats just how newbes roll.

The burn is all things good.

You don't hear about Karnalis because they are turds. Most people demo before they buy a $1000 boat. If it was a great boat like the burn, a lot of people would be paddling them and raving about them like everyone has for the Burn for the past few years.

That being said, there are a lot of other boats out there that would be good for him to look at as well.

Edge versus no edge... Karnali is closer to new mamba where burn has long carving edges... Which some like... Some don't
