I wanted to clarify. I recall now that when i installed the Aire pegs on my Aire Lynx, beig a relatively late model Lynx, it had some reinforcement pre-installed where you mount the pegs -- so punching the hole was really easy -- the reinforcement (on the underside of the shell) already had a hole punched, so all I had to do was punch through that hole and through the shell.
I can repeat that I trust Aire, in that the pegs came with the reinforcement strips in case your boat does not have them.
Bottomline, it may not be the best idea to just punch through the shell if there is no reinforcement.
I watched a video that showed all about installing those pegs -- pretty sure it was on the DVD that came with the Lynx.
Of course, as you said earlier, you could have the dealer do it for you -- there is some glueing involved to attach the reinforcement strips -- up to you.
