Drytop and semidrytop material

I know this subject has been beat to death, but I have a question I've seen mixed results from while searching.

Besides the difference in the neck gasket, is there a difference in the material used between a semidrytop and drytop? I know the brand and model will change things, but just generally...are they similar material for the test of the garment or is a drytop really made with much more durable and waterproof materials outside of the gaskets? Thanks!
