I was waiting for this to come up as it does in every discussion of dry pants with latex gaskets. Does anyone no of an actual incident where this occurred? Where someone was unable to self rescue do to their drypants filling with water?
I bought a pair of this type of pant last year and have not swum with them yet. When it warms up a bit I plan to go for an intentional swim in something mellow to see how they do. If they do indeed fill with water then I plan to just cut down the gaskets until they are loose enough to drain water.
If you search on this topic there are several heated threads with many people saying "drypants are a death trap" and a bunch saying they love them and have survived numerous swims.
