Dagger Infrared Kayak Questions

I've noticed that my bow tends to dip low in the water when I lean forward even just a little. Its not going below the surface, just not making paddleing efficient on flat water... Am I too heavy for the boat? I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs, I've looked to see if I can move the seat back but it doesn't look like thats possible. Is this a common characteristic of this boat?

According to the specs posted here, you're well under the max weight limit: Infrared - Dagger Kayaks

It's not abnormal for a whitewater kayak's bow to get very close to the water surface when you lean forward. In fact, it's an important characteristic for a whitewater playboat so that you can get the bow under the water to initiate tricks. (Though the Infrared isn't exactly a play boat.)

And, as you noticed, the result is that the boat is not ideal for flat water paddling performance.

I have a infrared and love it. I'm 5'10 and 160 lbs. I notice the same thing but not a big deal. The boat is super fast and that bow cuts right through waves which does lead to lots of water in your face.
