Creekers: Embudo v. Salto anyone?

Looking for opinions on the Embudo versus Salto, or any other recommendations. Thanks.

SALTO... no question. Unless you are over 195ish

Salto......Salto.....Salto....... Great boat. I only used the Embudo for 15 minutes at the end of Gore but I felt that the Salto handles much better.

The Salto is great. It works best when up on its edges. Its one of the fastest creek boats ever. If paddle it flat its as slow as any other boat.

I've never paddled an embudo, but I had a salto and loved it. Stay away from the red color though because there was a batch of bad red plastic. Almost everyone I've ever talked to loved the salto. Gimme a call if you're still looking to get a new salto - I may be able to help

The Salto is a great boat. If you are 195 and looking to do some multi-day trips, I would talk to one of our Team Boaters out there and demo a boat. I know some folks that are your size and take the Salto on 4-6 day trips. It is all personal preference.

And, No, not all red Saltos are bad. We had 8 boats that we are replacing for some folks. A few boats in that batch were botched.

Joe, sure I'll take you down the Green! Go left...oops, I ment right! haha

Have a great day!
