I'm altering a frame I got cheap and the cooler drop in it has "spacers" for lack of a better word. On either side of the drop there are half inch square rails. My Igloo Marine cooler just barely didn't fit. Needless to say, the cooler was ruined when I tried to pry it out after Westwater.
I've shown it to several boaters in town and tried to look up the manufacturer (S&S metal from Oregon) online; no one seems to know. I feel like it looks like a place for a dog walk above a cooler or something. I can't figure out what the spacers are for- and though I've done other alterations, I'm hesitant to just shave these off.
I don't have pics yet, but does anyone have experience with this and advice?
Secondly, on an 8 day trip on Deso in July, one person had a Rubbermaid cooler with jug dividers to freeze. Granted, he was a cooler Nazi (Keep that closed!), but he also had block ice to chop up for cocktails on day 7, and cold ass water to drink on day 7 from the dividers. I don't think he used dry ice at all. Sweet cooler. He said he paid about 300 for it I think. On here, he's LSB- send him a ton of pms- I'm sure he would love to hear from all of you.
But back to hijacking this thread- should I take off the spacers, or ...
