Another cam strap helpful tip. Many times when rigging, the cam strap is just long enough to wrap, but only leaves a 2-3 inch tag...too small to grab on and get a good grip to tighten down. Clamp the cam from another cam strap on the short tag end to extend the strap and get better leverage for tightening, then remove the second strap from the tag end.
Right-O! I'd been boating for about ten years, with a Grand trip under my belt, when I learned this trick from a guy who'd been kayaking for six months, who used it when strapping his boat on the roof rack.
