Cheap SUP Paddle?

I am out in Brasil right now for work, and on and off day went to a local beach and rented SUP set. First off I got to say the people that are running rivers doing this are total badasses. I got a lot of respect for you, as it was hard just dealing with swells coming in.

I have a big windsurf board that I would like to do this with when I get back home on a local lake. But am in need of a paddle, as I am sure my raft paddles will be too small. What is the cheapest option right now for SUP paddles? do by no means need carbon fiber or anything. If I like the sport, I may graduate to that. I was thinking about taking one of my cheap raft paddles, cutting it in half, and putting a chunk of PVC in between to get it some more length.

The Kona Stand Up Paddle retails for 138.95 (half of the cost of a Werner). We've been using them for a few months and have been putting them to the test. They seem to be holding up well so far. They don't have telescoping shafts, but you can cut it to fit.

I spent the money and got a werner carve and love it. It is really nice to be able to change the lengths. Shorter for surfing and faster strokes. Longer for flatwater. Its fun and super addicting.

Google Cannon Paddles. THey have a plastic SUP paddle that retails for like $50. It's not high performance, but it's super cheap.
