Cheap polyboard decking

Does anyone know where to buy polyboard on the cheap. Want to make my own decking but not out of plywood.

Cheap Poly Decking

Both of my catarafts have decks down the left side. The first was made out of urethane-coated plywood by AAA in Denver, and is heavy and pricey to have made, but works great. The second has a deck of trex-like material I bought at Lowe's. It comes in pieces of 12' X 8", works as well as the more expensive decking, only cost about $35. I just drilled holes for the camstraps used it textured side up, and was good to go. The only drawback is that it is more flexible than plywood, so your frame needs to support it better.

The stuff is easy to work with, and I like it so much I made a raft trailer out of on the frame of an old Toyota pickup!

You might try Regal Plastics at Santa Fe and Belleview. Just a guess.

Oslo, It looks like you may need a bussiness lisence. Do you know if this is the case? I am registered. Have you purchased anything from this site?

split a piece

hey grandyoso or oslo,

if either of you want to split a piece of the polymax, let me know. i actually only need a small amount, approx 16" x 48" to make a seat area for the front of my frame similar to the ones on some of the DRE frames.

oslo, what thickness did you order and do you think it would hold up to a few people sitting on it?

please PM me if either of you have some extra. thanks in advance.

I used HDPE on my Puma decks - I love the " no maintenence" aspect of it over the wood decks on my Hyside, but used 1/2" and found that even on that narrow of a frame that it flexed/warped and I had to add aluminum bracing. While I would use it again, I think 1" is the minimum I would go with for a seat. It is also slippery, so I glued foam padding to it.

pbowman..I haven't bought any yet. I would be interested becuase I'm just looking to use it as a front bay cover/seat like the picture. I would think .5" would be thick enough, but it looks like that thickness has warped.
