The thing I don't get about cargo nets is that if all you use is the net, you have only a net holding down a bunch of loose, unsecured gear. In a flip or serious tilt, all that gear is going to shift around and not stay tight to the boat. I prefer to strap or hoopie tie the load in.

isn't that the same as with an everything bag? the nets don't have much give to them though, if it's pulled tight and the tiedown made through the net and not only the edges I don't think this is a problem. I know it's not with the king sling, can crank it down tight over the gear and it somewhat conforms to your load shape. Unless you have an empty void space in the pile no way it's shifting or moving.
I rig mine like a giant flap with loop straps across the three sides. the side right behind the rower is never undone and is the flap joint. load up, flip the sling over the pile, loop the straps through the other two sides and tighten. quick and easy. I might have a picture.
