carbon and foam core paddles

I'm in need of a new paddle. I've been very happy with the durability of my fiberglass Werner Player, getting four years out of it, but I'm thinking about trying something a little different: either the carbon fiber blade or foam core blade (Double Diamond, Sho-Gun).

My question is, how durable are these paddles? How long have you had yours? How does the wear compare to fiberglass?
