Broken paddle blade

I was running LSB today and got my paddle stuck in a crack in a rock and broke the paddle blade, it didn't snapped off but the spine running down the center is broken through. I was wondering if anyone had any experience fixing them, or is it done. I know that werner will put a new blade on but the charge a lot. any thoughts?

Tom, I am sure you could fix it with epoxy, the deal is though, you need heat to cure a good epoxy, people will tell you differant, but room temp epoxy is brittle. If it is a colored paddle red, yellow, green, it will be easy if if has a foam blade your....welll, it's not a foam blade right?

I'm no plastic expert, but i'd say you might want to epoxy it and make it your playboating paddle. Not sure I would trust an epoxy fix when heading out creeking...

I checked with Werner once about replacement blades. I remember it being somewhere between 1/2 to 2/3 of the orginial paddle price, so that could be a great option if the paddle is fairly new and in good shape other than the crack...

No thoughts on the self repair job. I just had werner fix the exact same thing on a blade that I sent back to them. If there is decent life left in the other side of the blade, it might be worth it to get werner fix it. 1/3 of the price is a good estimate I think, as long as the shaft is not damaged. Cheaper than buying a new blade, and they did a good job for me.
