boat motor size???

I’ve been thinking of adding a motor to my rig this season and I’m wondering how many HP would be good. I obviously don't need anything huge, but want something with enough power to push a party barge of like 4 or 6 boats tied together down the river and still have enough power to steer. So if anyone has any experience with motors on rafts, let me hear your input. Also any input on the rest of the components, like gas tank setup, or electric motor, how to cover the motor in rapids, motor mounts, or anything else would be appreciated. Thx
