Best Cataraft Tubes? Sotar or Mavaria

If the prices are similar, what would you rather have a Sotar ST or a Maravia cat tubes and why? I am looking at tubes in the 16' x 24" range.

Sotar Legend, not ST. Josh has one and loves it, and he also has a 12.5' playboat. I hear their website is either updated, or almost there. They've not had the Legends on their website before either.

Not a lot of Maravia cats around, Sotar are da bomb, and a lot of people think the same about Aire.

I've owned 3 sets of maravia cat tubes and they have all been solid performing boats. I just sold the 16x24's and they were the best size all around for do-it-all boating. That being said, all of them had some sort of cosmetic issue. Maravia seems to be famous for this, I have seen a boat order of 10 have 3 sent back for unsatisfactory quality conditions. The good ones are great, and I just bought a new Zephyr and love it , but I am kind of gun-shy when it comes to maravia. I have never seen an aire come out of the box that wasn't perfect, and I've never seen a sotar that wasn't pretty enough to own. Just my experience. hope it helps.

I'd vote for the SOTAR Legend if you're looking to run Class IV or higher whitewater. The designs is absolutely perfect for big drops, and maneuverability, and surfing waves. If you're looking for Class III or multi-day trips, then they're both good.

never had a sotar but have some maravia. lent it to a bunch of newbies learning how to row. My frame is scratched, bent, gashed but the tubes somehow still look new ...

I think Maravia site they have some seconds on the 16x24 ...
