Best boat for a beginner

Been raft guiding for awhile and I have decided its time to start kayaking. I have limited experience and I am looking for a good boat to begin in. I'm thinking I would like a play boat/river running boat as I live next to a whitewater park but also do multi trips on my raft, would like to have a boat I could play in the park with but also take on a multi day raft trip (just strap it on the raft when things get too big) I have done some research and chatted with local river rats, Jackson seems to be the top recommendation. The Fun series as well as the all star and super star were the common ones. I would like to have a boat that is forgiving and easy to learn to roll in. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Also I am 5'9 165lbs

I paddle the 2010 Jackson Star and my hubby has paddled every All Star Jackson has ever made. Here are his comments:
2007 Star series - great boat for playing and river running, easy to roll
2010 Star series - great boat for playing, OK river running, easy to roll
2013 Star series - this is the first boat Jackson made that he didn't like at all - stayed with his 2010

I going with the full on playboat for my recommendation.

Rockstar or Project x.

Forgiving and easy roll are relitive terms. Every new model is said to be more forgiving and eaier to roll than the last but that "marketing hype" has been going on since the begining of time. Because you live next to a wave, get the full on play boat.
