Additionally, what type and size of batteries did you all use. We used this type of water filter on the Grand last year and it really was amazing. Looks like you all have outdone yourself. I think I run a 5u or whatever you can get as a prefilter from home depot and I went with this which is now discontinued but you can still get some from this web site.

they are both carbon. I usually add about a capful of bleach to a 5gal and stir. you should be able to slightly smell the bleach. I settle my water overnight (or use flocculating agent) and then pump through an RV pump into the 2 stage filter system. You cannot taste or smell the bleach after filtration. Dirty or unsettled water will foul the filters after a few uses.
the battery is a 7AH sla battery I got several years ago for a science experiment and its been stored in my lab and re-trickled charged every so many months. First thing in the morning we pump the water and then run small Brunton solar panel (5W) to recharge while we are rigging the boats. You will probably want to bring along a cheap but reliable voltage meter so you don't wind up killing the battery (Which we also use for recharging ipods and powering a small set of USB speakers). If the battery needs more I have a flexible soft panel that I put on the bimini top and charge the battery during the day. I'll probably replace the battery before my next big trip.
