Anyone try the ir guide shorts?

These look pretty sweet, but I kept thinking swamp a$$. Would these things ever dry?

Worst shorts ever.

Yeah the ir guide shorts are not that great. They would never dry out, I ended up cutting all the fleece out of mine. They were hot as hell also. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

yeah i agree they don't dry thus i only wear them when i know it's going to be cold and when it's cold they're nice. and if they stay dry when it's cold they're GREEEAT. it's just like having a pair of fleece under your shorts that you can't take off.
a good way to manage it though is to take them off once your done paddling and wip them around to get as much watter out as possible. then they dry pretty good. but then your standing there all naked and shrivelled up wipping your swamp ass shorts all over the place. i'll show you up at the Source later this month : ) -trev

Neoprene Guide Shorts

I have the neoprene insides guide shorts. They dry in a timely fashion as long as there is some sun. They do however provide nice support in the necessary area !!!!

I am talking about this year's neoprene model. I bought fleece shorts once my first season boating- boy did they suck. Hot wnen you wanted cool shorts and cold and wet when you wanted to be warm and dry.

Trevor, what happened to the dinosaur?

The guide short is what you described it as..a neoprene liner. Neoprene is designed to hold water hence it dries slower than other products out there. It isn't very breathable either hence the swamp a$$ reference. I paddled them for a year and a half and had no real issues other than them still being damp the next morning.

I've gotten into some Mountain Surf liners this year and there's nothing better that I've seen on the market. Breathable, dry quickly, DON'T hold water, and warm! Check them out if you can. I know Alpenglow carries them.
