My .02 for the Cougar: not a good gear hauler. Narrow between the tubes (i.e. can't accommodate dryboxes or cooler) and when fully loaded (not overloaded), rowed like a dog. A friend flipped twice in the GC due to the high center of gravity. He promptly bought an AIRE 156R upon his return.
16' is also too big for rivers around Portland. NW = 14' cat with 60 or 66" frame

I have a 15.5 foot wave destroyer that i have used on NF Payette and solo triped the GC with and done several other day and multi-day trips with. Its great!! look for one of those.

just got into the lions den... hope to hear more fun under the sun with you guys for future endeavor... seen some great intel here, works really great for clientele explanation. hope to hear more great stuff here.
