Got ya Avatard. So far I haven't experienced any toe pinch. The leverage from a seat is why I really like rowing from a seat instead of just rowing off a box. Your post got me to thinking about how I position my feet while rowing. Forward push..... One foot on either the top cross bar or the lower foot loop, and the other foot back, braced against the dry box I'm sitting on. I rock forward from the waist for a more powerful forward stroke. A long time commercial guide taught me that. Saves your shoulders. Back pulling.... feet are kind of in various positions. In big rapids, I lock my toes between the floor & the lower foot loop. Good tight lock-in point, and no fear of my foot getting caught in the foot loop. I did make the foot loop narrower & not as deep to lessen the foot entrapment potential that Laura mentioned. Still possible though I guess.
Wow....you know it's the off season, and we rafters are bored & restless....we're talking about frame geometry & rowing foot positions. Yikes !!!!!!
