South Fork of the Poudre

Beware, we ran into about 12 portages due to riverwide log strainers, 11 of which were easy to see and eddy out before you got to them. The 12th happens at the last big drop before the confluence with the Poudre. You can't see the strainer until you go over the lip of the drop. There was an eddy on the river left side of the drop before you hit the tree, I made it, my brother didn't. Luckily the branch he was pinned on broke and he flushed out. We ran it when the gauge read 1'. If you are going at higher flows be super careful. Many of the eddy's we caught to avoid trees will be gone.
