SOURCE - log

Actually, it's more like a tree. Location is a couple hundred yards above the entrance to dead hiker rapid, in the slide that ends with a four foot boof that is just upstream of the big log jam on river right. This is a part of the run where the river right trail goes away from the creek, so you would have to make a point to go down to scout it. It is big - maybe a foot in diameter and blocking most of the creek. There is a boat-width gap between the end of the tree and the left wall and it boats well, it is a good place to be anyways.

Anyways, we ran it Thursday night at about 6. It is starting to be on the higher end of fun. I think the gauge is getting more water from the source now and less from elsewhere. It was definately higher yesterday at 220 than it was a week ago at 270.

I hope that we can get that log out some time soon. I think I will be back up there tonight if you are interested in another run, Joel. I am going up to do Alto Alto first, then Source around 5:00 hopefully.

Also, for reference, the gauge was at 269 at 6:00 pm last night, about the time we put on. And as we discussed, the gauge is a ways below the run. Check out:
