Eagle County Open Space celebrates the grand opening of a new ramp at the Duck Pond Open Space on the Eagle River between Gypsum and Dotsero. The property provides a new concrete ramp, parking lot, driveway and vault restroom.
The 55 acre property contains .7 miles of Eagle River, which is open to fishing, bird watching, boating, picnicking and duck hunting within a designated area. A portion of the Eagle Valley Regional Trail also bisects the property.
The land was acquired out of foreclosure in 2011 and has been the subject of significant restoration. Eagle County Open Space has preserved more than 10,000 acres and has completed five major river access projects since 2012, four on the Colorado River and one on the Eagle. Many thanks to our partners at BLM, Town of Gypsum, Eagle Valley Land Trust, Eagle River Watershed Council, American Rivers, and many others - it takes a village to raise an Open Space Project! Enjoy!
