Clear Creek FYI

Long story. I was doing my after work lower CC down to playpark and got into an interesting situation. I was looking for a friends paddle that was lost on CC earlier, so I decided to go left of islands just incase it floated that way. Left of 1st island all good. But when I went left at 2nd island I encountered deep water and pretty good horizon line. I was able to eddy out right and jump out of my boat pretty quick (beginner paddler might not be able to do this) Below was a man made 4ft drop, which would definitely hold a boat without proper boof. Below that was wood sieve aids. The current basically cuts back over the island and its ugly and there is all sorts of places to shove a body. Rescue would be pretty easy, but regardless not somewhere to swim. I explored the island an found probably 20 deflated tubes. I cant believe this area has not claimed a tuber to incident. The flow goes right of the island and takes tubers and boaters that way but there is no sign to not go left and as proven a meandering boater looking for the scenic route could go that way... Most of you probably know this, but im new to the watershed and it surprised me.

That's the coors inflow you're describing. Most who paddle this section know about the facility. Some even paddle it for fun at higher water. Not sure why given the high quality water upstream.
On the river, I can abandon who I am and what I've done. However brief it lasts, while on the river I am nothing important and everything insignificant. I am flotsam, and happy to be so.
