clear ck. ark

major log in 1st gorge as of yesterday. definately scout 1st gorge. was clear wed. night and we put on thurs am and came on it fast and one of us (me) got seriously pinned on it. bow downstream and under, log in chest. very lucky to have escaped that situation and subsequent severe swim with only some cracked ribs and various cuts and bruising. the other 2 in my party got stuffed under and thru. one swam. we are still missing a mustard yellow jefe chico and 2 werner sidekicks, one orange blades and one blue blades. we put up a warning note and another group of 4 went for it anyway going for a very tight sneak on the far, far right. 3 of the 4 made it, the 4th made it out of the river after a beating and a dislocated shoulder. this is a serious log/situation, please scout first and be super on it if you choose to attempt to boat around it.
be careful and let me know if you find a paddle or the boat. reward for sure.

Glad to hear you're ok!

How much work will it take to remove this log/tree?

will be tough, as it is in the gorge with overhanging wall on river left. maybe will move as the river comes up...

Im up for trying to remove it on Sunday if it is still there. I've got a decent saw and I'll bring some climbing/rappelling equipment.

Steven, wow! Glad your OK! Broken ribs? I need to hear the rest of the story.

Although that creek is fun as hell, we oftentimes underestimate the value of a pre-scout and go off of the buzz here. That section can be a wood magnet.
