Timex in search of Expedition 4:00AM Crew Members

Applications for this year’s ‘Outdoor Job of the Year’ are now being accepted. Timex is in search of three Expedition 4:00AM crew members to participate in this summer’s Timex Expedition 4:00AM road trip. The Timex Expedition 4:00AM Crew Members will travel and play in, on and around the Rocky Mountain West for 4-6 continuous weeks during the summer of 2005 (July, August) on an unscripted journey of four questionable citizens in celebration of the 4:00AM lifestyle. What is the 4:00AM lifestyle? It’s an outdoor junkie’s ability to plow through lack of sleep, bad micro beer headaches, and 7-11 coffee in order to harvest the best conditions.

The crew member’s main responsibility will be to have 4:00AM kinds of adventures; ride, climb, paddle, hike, travel, eat, drink, be merry… in order to help create original, authentic content for www.expedition4am.com. To re-iterate…you must have a passion to bike, paddle, hike, climb, and everything in between. Do you need to be a bad ass? No. Just have the fire of a bad ass…(no campfire joke intended).

Basically, Timex is sponsoring their summer vacation.

Crew Member candidates should be semi-skilled in a variety of outdoor pursuits, including but not limited to mountain biking, trad and/or sport climbing, fly fishing, white water paddling, slack lining, paragliding, relaxing; must play nice with others; must be comfortable as an ambassador of the 4:00AM lifestyle; may or may not be certified in Wilderness First Aid; must not be afraid of truck stop corndogs. Computer, automotive and camp stove culinary skills a plus.

You must own your gear; must be at least 21-years-old; must have a valid driver’s license; must have health insurance.

You will be living out of a 1992 Chevy Astro Van for the duration with people that might be considered your peers. Oh yeah, there will be some guerilla marketing activities to report on as well (nothing illegal, as far as we know).

Expedition 4:00AM will include an Expedition Reporter – a semi-qualified “journalist” - charged with chronicling the trails and tribulations of the 4:00AM Road Trip Crew on the www.Expedition4am.com site.

We are looking for three Crew Members. Teams and individuals are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Have an adventure; have a blast…ride, climb, paddle, hike, travel, sing, dance, eat, drink, be merry… really, we’re not kidding.
  Itinerary development
  Co-habitate in a randomly selected team environment.
  Logistical support
  Assist Expedition Reporter in story filing duties.
  Assist in guerilla marketing activities (nothing illegal, as far as we know).
  Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned (Sherpa, mechanic, mascot … )
  Occasional dish duty
  The ability to get to Boulder, CO by July 17th….4:00AM.

Compensation (yes, you get paid)
4:00AM Crew Member will be paid $200/week for 4-6 weeks and will receive daily travel stipend of $50/day for food, lodging, beverages. (That’s $550 a week)
