Wondering what the respective flows will be like for the two sections in mid-early April? Also, what are the temperatures like? Any info is appreciated.

I've had great April trips for yampa. Usually 4k cfs mid April. Lot of sunny days, sometimes chilly and rain but it's usually at the put-in it seems. Prepare as you usually would for an April trip.

I did a mid-May trip with sun and snow. It may look like S Utah, but my experience the weather is more like Wyoming’s.

Two years ago on yampa we put on at around 10k-12k then dropped to 6k or so was a great level. Snowed a lot really windy and snowy on our day into warm springs pretty brutal. Last year was 2500 pretty mellow. Weather was amazing sunny and 75 F perfect weather.
So... Plan for rain and snow hope for sunny and warm.
Pool and a pond... Pond be good for you.

We launched like April 27th in 2011. Flows were medium I think. Keep an eye on the Colorado river basin forecast website for flow predictions before you launch.

The weather was wind and sleet on the river, with some sun.
