Who's up for class II kid boating?

Riley is 8 and has a pretty solid roll. He thinks he is a class IV paddler. He's pretty comfy on II's with the occasional easy III, as long as there is a portage route available. Thinking about hitting the "pond" on the St. Vrain. It has varying inflow currents with the ultimate recovery pool. He is comfy on various stretches of Boulder Creek at lower flows, but not sure of a section here tame enough with today's flows. Where else is there easy front range paddling at flood stage?

He loves paddling with other kids, and may help motivate your youngster too.

My kid

Hello Dave, almost bought my 12 yr old boy a Fun 2 today. He has NO roll and only paddled milk run on Ark. My wife grudgingly might let him paddle with me more. I know he needs to practice a roll as I put the cart before the horse. The St Vrain town is perfect and the Poudre FP is just washed out class II from what I saw.

Let me know when is good for you guys, would love to paddle in a group as I was a nervous wreck for my son on the Ark.

Deckers is good

My son Avery just turned 9 and has a pretty solid roll also. We'd love to join you guys on the river sometime as it sounds like he and Riley probably have similiar skills. We live in Conifer so we hit Deckers quite regularly and all is good at higher flows (except maybe the actual Chute, which we walk with him). Give us a call sometime and we can get together somewhere! 3oh3-2six3-2243. Free this Friday and Sunday...
