What Stretch North Fork Flathead?
I am trying to organize a scenic raft trip for a bunch of wedding guests this Sunday on the North Fork Flathead and need some help figuring out which stretch to run.
We have about 40 people for the run in a mix of rafts and canoes, and we have a bunch of little kids (2 years old and up) and inexperienced canoers (kids are riding in rafts). So, we are looking for a super mellow stretch of river that won't be too much time on the river (2-3 hours ideal float time).
Our other issue, though, is that we don't want to do too long a shuttle and we have a lot of people who want to get off the river at a reasonable time to drive home to various spots in Montana.
I keep reading that there are Class II and III rapids on the bottom stretch from Big Creek to Blankenship. Is that true? If so, we have to do a different stretch of river. Any suggestions?
Also, any suggestions on a quick, easy shuttle?
Thanks in advance!
