Westwater

Anyone have a westwater permit on the 3rd or 4th (or a later weekend trip) that I can hop on with? I'm looking for some bigger water experience.

MR

Now that the season is starting up, it's often best to just show up at the ranger station with $7. Start asking ppl camping if you can jump on their permit in the morning, if you have all your own gear. Works for me all the time when I show up with a kayak, though I guide the run so I offer to run safety.

Matt already knows that trick. He brought us great luck by hopping in at the last minute to be the 14th person in the group recently!

If you want high water, I have a Cataract Canyon permit for around the 28th - 30th of May. 3 permits between my friends and I all intertwining (2 kayak departures, 1 raft) on different schedules. Jumping on one would be a possibility (though Cat permits are always available). NPS gives it a 50/50 chance it's going to get bigger than 75000cfs this year, and typically high water is the last week of May. If not comfortable kayaking, you could jump on the raft?

I wish I could take you up on your offer but I have to save my vacation time this year.

Thanks,

MR
