Vail area paddling 8/1. Need crew

So on Friday, your Helio finally gets married.
I'll be overnighting in Vail, and I'd very much like to do a III/IV if there's anything in the area, but I've got no crew. See, the in-laws have a family foundation meeting (that I'm skipping) that Saturday.

I know I could run down the Leadville-to-BV way, but I think that's a bit of a haul, isn't it? I need to be back in Vail Saturday night early-ish (no later than 6) to party with the new in-laws (and their parties are worth it).

Two questions:
What would you recommend?
(How far is the drive to Glenwood for some Shoshone laps?)

Would you be interested in coming along?

"self-aggrandizing jackass" - it says it right on the label

Shoshone is maybe an hour (ish) from Vail as long as they are not doing construction on 70 out that way which I am unsure of, and that is where I would recommend heading anyway. Probably the best flowing stretch around in the III range right now and if you do not find anywhere here willing to meet up then going there its pretty much guaranteed on a Saturday to be able to hook up with a group, and if not, just run/bike/walk the shuttle and hit it up yourself

Congrats on the wedding

Shoshone is probably 45 minutes - 1 hour from Vail. The Numbers are probably 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
It takes a big man to cry...It takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
