First of all, nobody on the BUZZ actually runs rivers. They just talk via BUZZ/TEXT message about gear. Secondly, they will hammer you on sentence structure. Don't plan trips here; just ask advice.

I take offense Nourse! I swim my local rivers on a weekly basis, and so what if I want to know which size Yeti/Galaxyfaraway/Rubbermaid cooler will fit in my kayak!
The Upper A is awesome and long. Your best bet is to find people in Durango either at the play park or one of the shops. Good luck finding some paddling partners. I usually have good luck there, but you never know!
Though I am not sure of your meaning when you say "what to run the Upper" I can tell you I am from Durango and I will talk with you about running the upper tomorrow. I have a bunch of cool stories from talking to other folks about running the upper, though most of them are from when the Corsica Overflow was popular. In fact I don't think there has been a successful descent since the early 00's.
I actually would have fired it but I am in Denver posting on the buzz to see if someone will paddle with me. In fact I ran the lower Gnarrows yesterday, solo, no shit. see posts "show me your poudre" and "NOCO weekday paddlers" for quality discussions about paddling.
