We did Rye to Gun Creeks at 600-ish a week or so ago and it was nice...not too low, not juicy though...I'd definitely be down for a Hellsgate run if the water holds...not close enough to get a visual on the flow though.

Hellsgate at current flows would be sketchy. The Verde at Camp Verde gauge is over 3000 at the moment...that is a decent flow for playing at the falls. I am planning to be around there Sunday and Monday for a Beasley-Childs float.

I am 4 months out of shoulder surgery, and paddling against doctor's orders. i would be ugly if i had to roll. hence the reason i am looking to do lower oak on 3/3 and tonto below hell's gate 3/8. call me if anypne want's to hook up, and save me from the solo bike shuttle.

bwest, It is almost impossible to gauge the upper Tonto through Hells Gate and even harder for Chris Creek as there are tribs coming in from differing areas and no stream gauges up there. The Tonto gauge is down below the 76 ranch after the Pittsburg Box. Hells Gate can be run as can Chris Creek at anything over 100+ with advanced boaters going through at 600+. These creeks are bony at low flow. Stories tell about fast water, blind drops over 15', blind corners in narrow granite channels, killer strainers, any number of recircs, scarce rescue eddys and bitch cold water.
