The Gunny Gorge @ 550cfs

So whats the deal? If you already think the Gunny Gorge is boring, then you might already have a bias.

It's currently at 550 CFS, I ran it at a bit more then double that and it was fun. Is it going to be fun at 550?

For reference Cataract was fun at 10,000 in the packraft.

And while I'm at it, running Westwater on Monday for the first time in my new (old) dagger medevil, any rapids that require scouting at 4800 cfs?

any day on the river is better than a day not on the river.

but you should be fine. the last part below the rapids will be slow, especially if there is winds. but the first part and the rapids will still be fun. i dont think it gets scrapey until about 350 or so. you will have fun.

i never really get these posts but it's fine and doable at these flows if that's what you are looking for. i took a 16ft raft down it at 375cfs. other than some grunt work at gatekeeper that smaller boats would just scrape's all just straight forward stuff getting easier as the boat size shrinks, no doubt.

hope that helps

Appreciate the responses...

I'm going to be on the river either way. thanks for the opinions, and keep them coming.

Although, it's not a Gunny Gorge or bust trip. This trip will be there always, our back up is doing cataract round trip in a silly amount of time.
