bring your boat, our "melt out" happens much sooner. You will have the Chattooga, Nolichucky, Cheoah, Pigeon, etc. as well as tons of class V creek runs.

I travel to Nashville often to visit family and usually drive up to the Tellicho if its running. If your willing to drive ~2hours there can be all sorts of options for creek boating. April can be pretty wet so a lot of options open up if its raining. Rock Island's about 45-hour away if you want to go get in a hole.

If you're up for the two+ hour there is plenty of great water near Chattanooga.
The Ocoee runs on weekends (III,IV)with lots of playboating. The Tellico is a great run (IV,V) and lots of great creeking (V) abounds. Go a little farther and you'll find the Chattooga, Nolichucky, Nantahalla, all with great runs.

Go to LRC~

Not too far from Nashville is Little River Canyon in North Alabama... and a few awesome tributaries depending on flow. LRC itself holds water well ... often something to paddle there.

And it is awesome. Johnnies Creek is super fun pool-drop class IV that runs into LRC with lotsa boofs and a couple slides.

have fun! I miss the SE!
