Taos are for beginners ?

Does any body know some good spots for beginners in the Toas area ?

Do the state park run which starts at the Lower Taos box take out (Taos Junction Bridge) to the Race course put in (Pilar). It is flat water to class II, then if that goes well the next 4 miles of the race course to the county line is class III.
