Steven's to BTO, or Rustics, Tuesday/Tomorrow

Hey all,

A friend and I are planning on running something on the Poudre tomorrow, Tuesday. We've talked about either Steven's down to the BTO (Upper Mish - BTO) , or to run both of the Rustics.

Pickin her up at 10-ish in the Washington Park area of Denver, then heading up in 1 car. Would love to possibly meet up with someone else to help with shuttles.

* We've never run these stretches of river before, but we are both fairly solid boaters.*

Give me a shout if you wanna join us, or leave a message here.

- Alex

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid to get it cut off.

Both are good stretches, Stevens to BTO is a little more fun, more rapids, and easier to hitch, also not as far of a drive. Rustic at this level is good but only a few rapids, another half hour up the canyon and way less car traffic for the one car attempt. Hitching in the Poudre is super easy on the lower river, you shouldn't have too much of an issue, even on a weekday! Just park at the top and hitch back from BTO, probably even be other boaters at the take out or flag down a rafting bus, most put in at stevens. There are a few good rapids on that lower stretch at this level, so be ready to rock and roll. The hole in pineview is big and not a fun swim, as well as horseshoe/guide hole. They all go, just be on your game if you have never done the stretch. Wish I could go with, have fun!!
