So originally they said all results to be posted by Feb 4th.

I logged in on the fourth and it said "unsuccessful". Then today someone from our group checked theirs and it said lottery freeze period. I checked my account again

Lottery Freeze Period:
The Lottery results will be displayed on the site by Mon Feb 13 2012. Please visit the site after the lottery execution.

(above was just cut and paste from their site).

Then I went back arrow to the main page and it refreshed to the original "unsuccessful" and I get a totally different result ...

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills ...

My email said denied lottery application and then goes into the same email AT got.
I went to the web site and it said unsuccessful. Is denied something different that unsuccessful?

Yes, unsuccessful is when you tryed but things just didn't work out on your own accord. Denied is where you tryed but someone esle made sure things don't work out. Kinda like in basketball when the center denies your shot! You should just be happy that you didn't get rejected!!
