Snake River Trip July 18th put in
I've just recently moved to CO and getting to know the boaters out here. I have a Snake River permit with a July 18th put-in date. My CA boating friends now can't do it, so I'm going to open it up to folks out here.
I'm a class 4 oarswoman with multiple river trips under my belt, including the Snake which I did 2 years ago. I've been boating for 9 years, have my own 14ft raft and a lot of the equipment we'll need. I'm also an ER nurse and certified SWT.
As for my trip, I would ideally like 3 oarboats (including my own). I am also welcoming kayakers as well that can paddle class 4 once I have oarboats in place (kayakers just never seem to get on a trip!). Each rower gets to fill their own boat with whoever you'd like to bring (max 3 people per boat including the rower). Max number I'm willing to take is 12. I've done the big trips before and they just are too much work. Smaller is fine as well. I've done a 3 person trip before that was great as well.
River trips for me are fun, so not looking for any high maintenance folks (I have come across one or 2 of those. Usually fill 'em up with Tecate and they're good). The main thing I'm looking for are teamplayers, people that really pitch in and make a trip fun. I'm all about the games, theme nights, and just having a good time, but need to have my bases covered as well. I'm a nurse and SWT, but would like others to be that as well (not everyone, but need someone else besides me when a crisis comes!)
So the info:
Put in at the Dam July 18th
Take out: Heller's July 23rd
Cost will include permit fees, shuttle (I would like to take as few cars as possible), food, any group rental gear, and camping fees before and after the river. Transportation costs are up to each car, not the group, unless someone ends up taking a lot of gear.
So I'll just start by seeing who might be interested and go from there. If I get some kind of group together, we'll figure out a meeting place so we can hash out the details (I live in Boulder).
So let me know if you're interested and you can call me with any questions.
And I know I'm new to CO, but I've never not been able to boat due to tornados! That's a new one....
I choose the road less traveled. Now where the hell am I?
