I think most of MT rivers will peak the 1st 2 weeks of June and drastically decrease from then on. The rangers told me the river was moving 4-5 miles an hour around 700 cfs. I was planning on 3 nights 4 days. 15 miles a day isn't bad, but with kids who knows.
Yeah, that's what the ranger said about the speed of the river. But by the time you stop for lunch and take a pee, gawk at the gorgeous scenery and fight you way out of the occasional mistake eddy it always seems to take 6-7 hours just to do 12 miles.
