I don't suspect you should have any problems, i was in an ik with a newbie doing the paddling while I was turned around backwards filming the rafts at top of eye of the needle. It had the elastic headband on it but not very tight. Previous poster right about the floating straps, $5-10 on amaz and worth it (olympus not better than the cheaper brand), we had actually decided on putting one on the same day as we had 6 wp cameras but somehow that one didn't get one and had bad luck in an otherwise fun and harmless moment. For yours I would recommend a tripod mount screw that you could screw to your camera and poke the other end through the top ( drill if need) of a cheap helmet with a nut on it. Then attach a Floatie to the handstrap and attach it loosely to the back of your helmet or lj so it doesn't flop around and block your lens, as will happen and ruin your footage. Might also consider a silicone casing ($20) for impact if you're worried about rocks.
