Rio Grande between River Hill CG and Marshall Park Camping Options?
Trying to find a multi-day, IIIish trip for a 14' raft within ~5 hours of Boulder for Memorial Day that will be relatively uncrowded (lots of qualifications, I know), and I'm intrigued by the Rio Grande between Rio Grande Reservoir and Marshall park, which is 20-22 miles as far as I can tell. I've searched the forums, but can't find anything about on-river camping along that stretch. Google maps makes it look like lots of forest service land, but can anyone provide more specifics?
Also, what's the river like between 30-mile CG and Riverhill? Google maps shows lots of whitewater; class? quality?
Finally, any feedback on the quality and nature of the water in the canyon downstream of Riverhill at ~1000 cfs would be much appreciated. I've read and heard everything from II to pushy III+/IV-. Just trying to gauge what it's actually like. Thanks!
