Do it. As long as you dress warm and prepare for waking up to ice on your bivy, it's great. If you can take a tent and a heater (or a dog) that helps. Also, if you can get your hands on a dry suit I would really recommend it. Rowing would be better than paddling. Rapids are still a hoot!

You are more than welcome, as is anybody else who is interested. We are thinking about leaving the evening of Dec. 4 (Thurs.) and heading back the 7th (Sun.). Let me know because we need to arrange the permit soon.
I appreciate everybody's feedback, and now am as excited to get on Westwater as much (if not more) than I was excited just to get back on any water. Didn't think about renting a drysuit...good idea.
