Yeah, quite a few. Where are you headed, or more importantly which direction from town do you want to be camped? Give us a few more details on your plans and I'm sure you will have lots of options.

Temple Canyon on Grape Creek is nice, but a bit out of the way. Had the pleasure of seeing a flash flood come through while camped there back in '98. Pretty cool to watch after we realized it wasn't actually going to take us with it.

Here is a list of the camping I know about in the area:

-13 miles N of Canon Banks/Sand gulch /BLM /$4 to $7 per night (shelf road climbing area)
-14 miles South of Canon Oak creek camp ground Free /FS /but will still have snow.
-There is also some camping on the way to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park on the left down a dirt road a mile or two before you get to the park, I think its is still free but havent been there in a while.
-Temple canyon as suggested above.
-There are pay sites on the river at five points, valley bridge, rincon, and a few more up stream. Free camping north side of the river at Texas creek.
-There are also all of the RV park places along US 50.

Anyone have any more info on Grape Creek or Mcintyre hills? I called the blm and lady said they're "real cliffy areas where she can't see how anyone can camp" then i was transferred to someone's vm.

Anyway looking to car camp really just hang out and sleep away from developed areas about 30 -45 mins from town. Thanks.
