We've all been waiting on you to bring the heat Jenny! Are you in FoCo yet? I'm in Arkansas and won't be at the 'lust meet and greet but I'm ready for some Poooooooder on Monday so suit up if you're around.
By the way, we're at 104% of last year's snow pack at this time, and about 100% of average. Another few days of cool weather up high and we're looking at a sweet season for as little precip as we've had. This year is going to be worthwhile afterall! I'm so glad that I quit my job to boat again this year.
Oh yeah, and to chime in about the flows: The North Fork has been dumping into Filter Plant, which is causing the high Canyon Mouth readings. Much of that has been coming from Sieman Resevoir (you know, like the tip of a jimmy hat...) and will soon (if not now) be natural North Fork flows. The stuff above FP will take a few more days, but if it gets hot it'll be two feet or bigger within a week. The Poo is about to blow her load y'all, and I can't wait!
By the way, I'll be selling Save The Poudre T-shirts, posters, stickers, and raffle tickets for the "Guess the Peak Flow" contest this year so if you want one come find me at Wanderlust and getcha some. The prizes include 2 nights in a cabin on the Poo, a whitewater rafting adventure for 4, a lounge chair, and some other high quality shit.
My guess is that the Poudre will peak at 102,000 CFS on June 9 (my Mom's birthday) and everyone involved will live to tell the tale. Except Dave Costlow. He'll die from being a bitch.
See Y'all on the Poo next week!
