Peru 08 - Damon Miller memorial trip
so Derk (Count) and I have started the planning for an 08 Peru trip. I am in contact with Piero Vellutino who was Damons man in Peru. There are many exciting options including Cotahuasi, Colca and Apurimac. We can go super lo budget and only hire for shuttle but I would like to hire a guide as well. A good time to go is perhaps the dryer season of late summer, early fall.
The Cotahuasi is a 75 mile remote run mostly IV with a bit of V and maybe a portage. We will have raft and/or cat support (I think I will bring a cat so even if we self support I can carry some gear). We need at least a week for this river.
If you are interested please post here and I will keep a list. You should be comfortable paddling class IV and V. Let us know what kind of trip you are interested in (budget, length, rivers, difficulty, etc.).
