Overnight on Deckers?

Hello all!
I'm sure you're excited about the upcoming paddling season as I am. Would like to take the family on an overnight boat trip this summer and wanted to start out easy. This would be my daughters first overnight'er and our first as a family. I know Deckers is a fairly mild river up to the chutes near the confluence. I thought we would start south of the Platte River Campground, float for a few hours and find a place to camp. Then continue the next day up to the pull-out right before the chutes.
Has anyone done this trip overnight before? Is it even possible, available camping? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks and see you on the river!

There are a couple campgrounds on that stretch. I do think that in the South Platte area you need to camp at a designated campground or you will get run off by the ranger.

Here is the link with a map of campgrounds.

The campgrounds are all roadside and take on a carnival-like quality on the weekends in the summer. Go mid-week, fun float!

Pumphouse on the Colorado might be a more pleasant option.

State Bridge to Twin Bridge take out on the Upper C- You'll want earplugs for the train, but you'll have your own site and a better river experience IMHO

Thanks for the info guys.
I want to stay close to home for our first overnight trip so I'll stick with Deckers this year. I suppose I should just do the float sometime prior to taking the family down. Take notes for camping options and time management. I know it's not a long trip, but with a toddler it will take longer than normal. See you at Bailey Fest!
